Cape Vulture at The De Hoop Collection Nature Reserve - This is one of the most iconic conservation areas in the Cape Agulhas region. For bird lovers especially, this area holds a treasure trove of bird species that lures bird lovers from all over the country, if not the world.  One such species that draws favorable attention is the Cape Vulture. They are currently listed as an “endangered” species on The International Union for Conservation of Nature List (IUNC).

This scavenger bird is a large one that can grow to a length of 115cm, with a wingspan of up to 2.6m. De Hoop Collection Nature Reserve can proudly boast with the last surviving colony of the Cape Vulture in the Western Cape. Starting with approximately 100 vultures, they have now nearly doubled in numbers.

A must see for any nature enthusiast.  Visit the De Hoop Collection and experience the Cape Vulture in its natural habitat.  It will be worth it.
