On the 18th of May, Cape Agulhas will be celebrating one of South Africa’s most significant attractions and one of its most prized possessions – the Southern Tip. This special celebration will be hosted by SANParks and this year will be held to commemorate St Brendan’s journey to the New World.
The coastline along the southernmost tip of Africa was once considered one of the most dangerous routes of all time and has claimed its fair share in shipping bones. Also known as the Shipwreck Coast, the rich history found beneath the waters makes for an interesting discussion and thus not an event to be missed, especially for history fanatics. Special guest for the evening, Louis Willemse, will deliver a brief talk on St Brendan and Bartholomeu Diaz.
