De Hoop Nature Reserve is a must visit

De Hoop Nature Reserve is an absolute dream to all the senses and a must be for your Bucket list! Only a short drive from Bredasdorp on the R319 towards Swellendam, and after about 6 kilometers you turn right at the signpost for De Hoop/Malgas/Infanta. Follow this very scenic gravel road for 35kms until you see a sign to the right – De Hoop Nature Reserve which will take you to the entrance at De Hoop. This nature reserve falls under Cape Nature and is home to 34 000 hectares of peace and beauty. Take cash because you cannot pay by card for your entrance fee. Once inside the reserve, follow the signs to Koppie Alleen. The best way to experience the beauty and majesty of this place is to take a picnic, go sit on top of a dune, and enjoy the wonder of watching hundreds of whales in the bay below. The reserve is packed with antelope like Eland and Blesbok, so take your time traveling on all the roads and enjoying the stillness and beauty of nature.

Thank you Franziska Andrag-Meyer for the stunning photos
