Kassiesbaai 22 km from Bredasdorp – This beautiful Fishermen Village is set against an aquamarine sea, the 200-year old Kassiesbaai, declared as a national monument, is dotted with thatch-roofed white-washed cottages and friendly faces of children playing, reminding you of a simpler life. Legend has it that lots of paraffin boxes washed up on the beach in earlier years. The people built homes from these boxes and plastered them over with clay. In later years, they used sandstone for building, and in 1975, the houses in Kassiesbaai were restored to their former glory and the charming village you see today.
