Tip of Africa Street Market in Celebration of a New Era

Tip of Africa Street Market

The Cape Agulhas Municipality is hosting its first “Tip of Africa Street Market” in Church Street on Saturday 1 July 2017 to celebrate the beginning of a new era following the adoption of a new five-year Integrated Development Plan and Budget by the newly elected Municipal Council.

The first Tip of Africa Street Market is also a celebration of the 100th year of existence of a Municipality in Bredasdorp. On 3 April 1917, the Village Management Board of Bredasdorp was dissolved and the Bredasdorp Municipality established under Proclamation 17 of 1917. The first meeting of the Municipality of Bredasdorp, took place on 10 April 1917.

This is the start of a series of markets that are planned to be held in each town to encourage local entrepreneurship and in so doing contribute to local economic development. The day promises to be a fun filled day with music, entertainment and plenty of local and regional produce for sale. The market will be open from 9:00 to 14:00 and we would like to invite everyone to attend.

Trading spaces are being made available free of charge and entrepreneurs are invited to apply for trading spaces. Application forms for trading spaces can be obtained from Ms Elsabe Zieff at Cape Agulhas Municipality, 1 Dirkie Uys Street, Bredasdorp, Tel (028) 4255500, E-mail:  ,  or on the Municipal Website, www.capeagulhas.gov.za.  Applications for trading spaces close on Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at 16:00.
