From Napier, the village with old world charm, you will ride to the crescent of Soetmuisberg – from where you will have uninterrupted views of L’Agulhas, the Southern most tip of Africa.
The trail winds its way through some of the rarest fynbos and protea species in the world. The undulating wheat fields of the surrounding countryside are home to the Blue Crane , South Africa ’s national bird, and it is not uncommon to see large flocks. The area has a rich population of bird species including the magnificent sunbirds, fish eagles and kingfishers – it truly is a birders paradise.
For the more adventurous we have the “commando trail” which spans over 4 days and a true South African experience.
Ride from Napier to Sandi Glen to Pearly Beach to Elim and then back to Napier on the 4th day.Sleep over on farms and cook over open fires.
