Description:
Southern Tip Day is an initiative by the Agulhas National Park and the local community to commemorate the history of the Southernnmost Tip of Africa and the influence of shipping and shipwreck people on the area. It also is linked to Bartholomeu Dias’s return journey in 1488 when he saw the southernmost landmass of Africa for the first time on 16 May.
The aim is to develop it into an annual 3 day event and to involve the Cape Agulhas community as a whole – Waenhuiskrans, Bredasdorp, Elim, Struisbaai, L’Agulhas and the farming community.
There are loads of things to do and see to experience and discover this magical place in Africa. Below are some of the highlights taking place in the towns of Agulhas.
