Be Water Wise this Summer in Cape Agulhas
And just like that, it is summer time! Cape Agulhas has done all it can to prepare for the numerous amount of visitors that come to our beaches and towns every year. We would like to encourage all, visitors and residents alike, to enjoy a water-conscious holiday and save water in every which way possible.
When using public showers or taps please ensure that you only use the amount of water that you need and reduce time spend under the shower. Also, make sure that taps are properly closed before you leave. If you notice any leakage please report it to Cape Agulhas Municipality.
Please keep in mind that Struisbaai, L’Agulhas and Suiderstrand have placed water restrictions on irrigation. Homes with uneven street numbers are only permitted to irrigate gardens on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Homes with equal street numbers only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Gardens may only be irrigated between 07h00 and 08h00 in the morning and no driveways or paving can be hosed off with municipal water.
Enjoy your holiday and be safe!
